The advent of modern plumbing has made life easier, sanitation attainable, and of course, has led to the need for plumbing services. All too often, you’ll hear of stories about how certain plumbers charge a small amount for a typically expensive job, only to find out that the work was shoddy.
Or maybe, you’ll hear the opposite about a plumber charging exorbitant rates and upselling unneeded services. No matter how you look at it, prices that are too low or too high can be indicative of poor work or a dishonest company. Keep reading to find out what to expect from an honest company in regards to the cost of plumbing services!
Please Don’t Ignore That Leaky Pipe!
A leaky pipe anywhere in your home can cause mold and mildew growth as well as water damage. This problem is not one that should ever be ignored but often is out of fear of repair costs.
To put your mind at ease, the cost to repair most pipes is actually low, plus the cost of labor and drywall repair. The easiest way to keep costs down is by calling us as soon as you notice or think you have a leak.
At Performance Plumbing, Inc., we take the time to explain in detail what the problem is and what the available solutions are. You won’t have to worry about pushy sales tactics or simply hoping for the best. You will know exactly what is going on with your plumbing!
Hairballs, Toys, Grease… Oh My!
All of the above are things that can be found in drains and toilets. Unfortunately, this is not an all-inclusive list and things can be added infinitely.
A clogged drain can cause a few issues including slow-moving water, overflowing toilets, low water pressure, and even cracked pipes.
Many people will purchase drain snakes or chemicals at their local hardware store in order to remove these clogs but don’t realize that they are doing more harm than good. Drain snakes aren’t terrible for plumbing when used by a professional yet can do damage to pipes when used incorrectly. Chemical drain cleaners simply are not safe for the environment, your drains, or your family.
In the event of a clogged drain, your best option is to call Performance Plumbing, Inc. If the clog is near the surface of the drain and within the drain snake’s reach, we will advise this process. Snaking a drain will not cost you much while being quick and effective.
If the clog is too stubborn or too deep, we may recommend a service called hydro jetting. Hydro jetting uses water at high pressure to blast away blockages in drains. It is a bit more difficult to place a number on this service because the cost is often determined by the severity of the clog as well as the type of drain.
Fix Your Faucet
Finally, we have the case of a dripping faucet. This might be the least serious problem listed but it is a problem worth fixing nonetheless.
A leaky faucet can cost you extra money on your water bill. Unfortunately, the issue doesn’t end there. Since there is a constant source of moisture, mold, and mildew will tend to grow leading to constant cleaning or even costly mold remediation.
Finally, faucets are made to be turned on and off--not to have a constant drip of water. This constant drip of water will make it necessary to replace the faucet much sooner than otherwise needed. After everything is said and done, the cost to repair the faucet sounds great compared to the frustration it causes!
